Beautifully Desired: Spring/Summer '11 Trend-Color Blocking

Color Blocking has been all over the runways for the Spring/Summer 2011 shows. From Gucci to Giambattista Valli to Zara and Topshop.... mixing bold, bright colors into a normally plain outfit is all the rave this season! If you're not ready to jump head first into this trend you can start with a plain palette and add a bright colored accessory, like a Cobalt Pump, or Hot Pink Clutch. Or you can do one brightly colored piece (like the hot pink shorts) and a white or black top and black or nude shoes/sandals. For the more daring, anything goes! you can mix a deep purple blazer with bright green cuffed skinny jeans and a black/nude or metallic (bronze or gold) shoe. When doing color blocking mainly above the knees, it's best to keep your footwear a solid/muted color. When doing a plain white/black or nude outfit, you can do a bright shoe and/or bright colored bag.
